Overview

The Restaurant Lead supports the efforts of the store leadership team, whose actions have a direct effect of the overall kitchen conditions. They are responsible for preparing and keeping fresh food products in an appealing, safe and, welcoming display. As well as assuring the kitchen provides a fast, friendly and delicious experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provides prompt, courteous customer service by greeting and assisting customers, ensuring that every experience will be fast, friendly, and delicious.
  • Assists in supervising restaurant associates in task performance and directing customers to checkout.
  • Assists in preparing work schedules to optimize best possible level of customer service, and floor coverage.
  • Performs duties necessary to maintain internal stores cleanliness and basic upkeep so that food preparation areas, shelves, and, counter space stay sanitary and presentable at all times.
  • Ensures team complies with all food safety behaviors which including: proper food handling procedures, temperature requirements, and bad merchandise record.
  • Maintains knowledge of all products offerings and promotions.
  • Supports advertising campaigns, sales promotions, and properly displays food.
  • Maintains 100% in store efficiency on top selling menu items.
  • Receives product from Vendor and following correct procedures.
  • Monitors food activities to ensure that customers receive exceptional customer service.
  • Examines food products to ensure that it is correctly priced.
  • Prepared and cooks food items per required menu, and recipe for affiliated store on a timely manner.
  • Consistently monitors the coffee and food bar for cleanliness, and in-stocks.
  • Follows company dress code standards as specific for a Restaurant Lead.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Ability to collect information from reports, and other available resources, evaluate the accuracy and summarize the information into meaningful results.
  • Demonstrate skills in leadership, customer service and team development.
  • Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members on a daily basis where social sensitivity and effective interpersonal skills are necessary.
  • Experience should include servicing customer requests, and handling customer effectively.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment when receiving assignments in the form of results expected, due dates, and general procedures.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Two (2) years of food operation experience required.
  • Maintain Current Food Handler and Food Safety Certification as required by County.
  • Ability to perform essential duties and to work in the conditions listed below
  • Ability to work with equipment, tools and materials listed below.

Physical Functions:

  • Must be able to stand and/or walk up to eight hours per day.
  • Ability to occasionally life and/or carry up to 30 pounds for ground to overhead, or 40 pounds from ground to waist level, up to thirty minutes of workday (i.e., to assisting in stocking/maintaining inventory levels.)
  • Ability to lift and/or carry up to 60 pounds from ground to waist level (i.e., replenish soda fountain syrups.)
  • Ability to push and pull with arms up to a force of 20 pounds (i.e., utilizing hand truck.)
  • Ability to bend at the waist with some twisting up to one hour of the workday.
  • Ability to grasp, reach and manipulate objects with hands up to all day. This handwork requires eye-hand coordination and may require bilateral coordination of hands, up to four hours of the workday.
  • May be required to climb a ladder to store or retrieve materials and/or place or remove signs.

Working Conditions:

  • Employee performs approximately 95% of work indoors, outside work may be required.
  • Employee is exposed to intermittent indoor cold temperature extremes when working in the walk-in cooler or freezer.

Equipment, Tools, and Materials

  • Employee must be able to utilize the fallowing electric equipment: telephone, cash register, fuel console, lottery machine, money order machine, microwave, grill, and coffee/cappuccino machine, etc.
  • Employee must utilize the fallowing manual equipment: flat cart, hand truck, grocery basket, rubber gloves, mop, broom, and degreaser/defoamer.
  • Employee must handle liquids, cloth, plastic, glass, paper, rubber, and cleaning solvents.

Work Schedule:

  • Committed to work assigned hours.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours (night, weekends, holidays, and perhaps on-call duty.)
  • Stores operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
